18.920000 20.560000 I don't remember any more of it.

57.600000 60.760000 Well, hello there, Mary Beth.
60.760000 62.200000 Hello, Sarah.
62.200000 66.160000 It's our 20th season two episode.
66.160000 67.120000 20?
67.120000 68.440000 Yeah.
68.440000 69.600000 Solid number.
69.600000 72.160000 Sounds like a good number to end on.
72.160000 73.240000 Must we?
73.240000 74.800000 Yes, we must.
74.800000 76.960000 It's the season finale!
76.960000 77.800000 Woo-hoo!
77.800000 78.400000 Queue the sound effects.
78.400000 79.360000 Woo-hoo, woo-hoo, woo-hoo, woo-hoo, woo-hoo.
79.360000 81.040000 Balloons, confetti.
81.040000 87.240000 Well, listeners, we're so happy that you tuned in to us today.
87.640000 92.160000 We will be sharing some of our thoughts from the season
92.160000 94.760000 and some of your input, too.
94.760000 99.320000 I'd like to start with this, James 3.17.
99.320000 104.800000 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then-peaceable,
104.800000 111.520000 gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits,
111.520000 115.000000 impartial and sincere.
115.000000 117.640000 Mary Beth, I have a question for you.
117.640000 118.920000 Yes.
118.920000 125.760000 Is our podcast pure, peaceable, gentle, open to reason?
125.760000 128.840000 Maybe in its good moments, yes.
128.840000 134.080000 I would hope the majority of it is, but I would say most of those words
134.080000 135.760000 don't typically describe me.
135.760000 138.880000 So I would say I would probably contribute to the moments
138.880000 140.760000 that we don't fit that bill.
140.760000 142.960000 That we transcend ourselves.
142.960000 146.280000 That the sum is greater than the parts of the whole.
146.280000 146.800000 Yes.
146.800000 147.800000 Thank you, Holy Spirit.
147.800000 149.120000 Amen.
149.120000 154.280000 I will say, for our listeners, we pray before every episode that we record.
154.280000 158.560000 And it has been very, what's the right word to use?
158.560000 159.960000 It's been a lot of things.
159.960000 162.760000 Encouraging, affirming, instructive.
162.760000 165.760000 Instructive, divine.
165.760000 168.440000 The ways that God has led our conversations
168.440000 172.920000 and always answered our prayer to help us with this thing.
172.920000 176.320000 This podcast thing must be his podcast.
176.320000 177.320000 Yeah.
177.320000 178.320000 It's our hope.
178.320000 179.320000 Yeah.
179.320000 180.320000 His podcast.
180.320000 182.760000 And we're just managing it or recording it or talking.
182.760000 183.760000 We're definitely talking.
183.760000 184.760000 Oh, yes.
184.760000 185.760000 We are.
185.760000 190.520000 Do we have things to say, do we have worthwhile things to say?
190.520000 194.240000 Well, when we talk about God and the things of him, we do.
194.240000 195.240000 That's right.
195.240000 201.120000 And when we talk about ways that he has come through for us and proved himself trustworthy
201.120000 202.120000 to us.
202.120000 203.120000 That's worthwhile.
203.120000 204.120000 Yeah.
204.120000 208.200000 I'd like to start by looking back over this past season.
208.200000 210.840000 We've been doing a lot of reflecting.
210.840000 217.800000 I have not been doing much rest recently, but a lot of reflection on this past season,
217.800000 221.280000 on the last several months of podcasts.
221.280000 228.920000 I was realizing that the seasons of change episode kind of set the tone for the different
228.920000 235.920000 conversations that we were going to have, whether it be with guests or with just ourselves, think
235.920000 242.760000 back to the lovely conversations that we had, the hard conversations that we had, and how
242.760000 250.120000 God was there in every season of the lives of the women that we spoke to, as well as
250.120000 253.640000 being there for us in the seasons of our own lives.
253.640000 259.440000 Yeah, especially in the past three or four episodes that you and I have recorded, we kind
259.440000 263.840000 of give each other this look and kind of laugh because the same themes, the same lessons
263.840000 264.840000 keep coming up.
264.840000 269.240000 And whenever that happens, we always pause and realize, oh, God, really must be teaching
269.240000 270.240000 us something.
270.240000 272.000000 This must be what we need to hear.
272.000000 273.000000 That's right.
273.000000 274.640000 He keeps teaching it to us over and over again.
274.640000 275.960000 So let's listen.
275.960000 280.640000 And I think that concept of change and adapting.
280.640000 286.960000 And also we did an episode on kind of sowing and reaping and what that looks like and how
286.960000 292.000000 that ties into different periods of your life experiences.
292.000000 295.320000 That has definitely been a common theme this year.
295.320000 300.480000 And I say that with a sigh because sometimes change is hard.
300.480000 301.480000 It is.
301.480000 308.520000 Even if we want something and it's a good change, it still comes with, I guess results is
308.520000 309.520000 the word I want.
309.520000 312.240000 I was going to use the word ramification, I was going to use consequence.
312.240000 313.960000 That's all sound negative.
313.960000 316.280000 But every change comes with results.
316.280000 321.960000 Some of them intended, some of them unintended, but all should be acknowledged.
321.960000 326.960000 It's when we don't acknowledge the results of changes that we can sometimes run into trouble
326.960000 327.960000 down the road.
327.960000 328.960000 Yeah.
328.960000 336.200000 There was an episode we did specifically on our words and what words come in and what
336.200000 340.040000 words go out and that words matter.
340.040000 341.040000 That was the title.
341.040000 345.560000 If anyone wants to go back and listen to what's called words matter, it's from January.
345.560000 349.960000 And that was also something that kept coming up for us.
349.960000 354.520000 That input and output and what you're saying, outcomes and results of change.
354.520000 359.800000 It's all tied together into what is feeding our minds and our hearts and therefore what
359.800000 362.040000 comes out.
362.040000 368.360000 One of the things I enjoyed discussing was the way that we can sit with each other and
368.360000 376.200000 reflect on what God has been doing and having those ebony's or moments, those kairos moments
376.200000 380.680000 that are sort of out of time where we can see the hand of God very clearly.
380.680000 388.680000 And talking about those, putting words to the feelings, sort of immense those in our minds
388.680000 396.880000 and our experience and being able to have that community to share that with to have that
396.880000 402.520000 cup of coffee with a friend or take the time that maybe you don't think you have, but that
402.520000 406.040000 you really need to have that conversation.
406.040000 412.080000 Mary Beth and I get to do it every two weeks and boy, it's made a big difference for me.
412.080000 413.080000 Yeah.
413.080000 421.320000 And even looking ahead, our sermon series right now at church is on the gospel and mental
421.320000 426.360000 health and it just reaffirms that need that we have for other people.
426.360000 431.760000 We did an episode on community and what you're speaking to that we really need other people
431.760000 439.960000 and we need each other and our hope is that some of these episodes cannot just help you
439.960000 445.720000 absorb what we're saying, but really our goal is that it would move you toward true community
445.720000 452.160000 with if you live near us with us, but if not with people in your orbit.
452.160000 458.320000 Our goal is not to have a podcast and fix your life because we can't, we can't even fix
458.320000 467.200000 our own exactly like we're so far from anything close to that.
467.200000 470.960000 But we know that our lives are better when we're in community with others and that's our
470.960000 471.960000 hope for you all.
471.960000 472.960000 Can I interject?
472.960000 475.360000 Yeah, we're fixing to fix our lives.
475.360000 476.360000 We're fixing.
476.360000 477.360000 Did I say that?
477.360000 481.160000 No, but I want to say it because I like that.
481.160000 486.080000 If you're from the south, you know, you understand, we're fixing, we're fixing to do it.
486.080000 490.640000 When I was maybe in middle school, I got my dad a t-shirt.
490.640000 495.320000 This is when Nike's just do it campaign was super big and I got my dad a t-shirt for
495.320000 500.200000 like Father's Day or his birthday or something that said just fix and to do it.
500.200000 501.200000 That's awesome.
501.200000 503.960000 I thought it was so clever.
503.960000 505.480000 What did he think?
505.480000 506.480000 He liked it.
506.480000 509.440000 He wore it to do yard work, so I'm not sure.
509.440000 513.360000 He's out of his t-shirt.
513.360000 514.360000 He's not a fancy child.
514.360000 515.360000 Okay.
515.360000 519.440000 Just inside into my life, we joke because my dad's uniform is a blue button down Oxford
519.440000 520.600000 shirt and khakis.
520.600000 521.600000 That's like his uniform.
521.600000 525.240000 So the t-shirt is for Saturdays of working in the yard and that kind of stuff.
525.240000 526.240000 I got it.
526.240000 530.040000 My dad's uniform has always been a button down shirt.
530.040000 535.600000 Even when he goes out to work, laying block in the summer, it was always a button down
535.600000 536.600000 shirt.
536.600000 537.600000 Wow.
537.600000 538.600000 Yeah.
538.600000 542.400000 I can barely get my boys to wear polo shirts with three buttons.
542.400000 543.400000 Wow.
543.400000 545.720000 That's so funny.
545.720000 547.640000 Things have changed, I think.
547.640000 552.000000 I guess when my dad was growing up and probably your dad too, button down shirts were the
552.000000 553.000000 shirts.
553.000000 554.000000 Right.
554.000000 558.080000 Many t-shirts, or if they weren't, well, that would have been kind of maybe like the rebel
558.080000 559.080000 kids or whatever.
559.080000 560.520000 They were just walking around in t-shirts.
560.520000 563.440000 I wonder when the t-shirts were invented.
563.440000 566.420000 Well, there were undershirts.
566.420000 567.420000 That's true.
567.420000 570.080000 And then people started wearing those first.
570.080000 577.760000 I think that Google says the US Navy began issuing t-shirts as standard undershirts in 1913.
577.760000 583.560000 The term t-shirt itself wasn't officially recognized until 1920 when F. Scott Fitzgerald
583.560000 586.520000 used it in his novel, The Side of Paradise.
586.520000 587.520000 How about that?
587.520000 589.620000 Wow.
589.620000 590.620000 There we go.
590.620000 593.980000 So there's your tangent for the day.
593.980000 594.980000 That's funny.
594.980000 595.980000 T-shirt.
595.980000 596.980000 Well, I like t-shirts.
596.980000 598.880000 I'm wearing one right now.
598.880000 609.840000 No, I actually wanted to take a minute to apply this James 317 to a couple of pieces of
609.840000 616.240000 wisdom that we dispensed with this past year.
616.240000 621.040000 The first thing I was thinking of is the community aspect.
621.040000 625.320000 In our episode, we explored how we are commanded by God.
625.320000 627.960000 We're given directives to living community.
627.960000 635.160000 So if we take this James 317 verse and we compare it to this piece of advice or wisdom or
635.160000 639.800000 command, however you want to talk about it, so we would ask ourselves, "Well, it's
639.800000 642.240000 the command to live in community.
642.240000 644.420000 Is that pure?
644.420000 645.420000 Is it peaceable?
645.420000 646.420000 Is it gentle?
646.420000 651.480000 Is it open to reason full of mercy and good fruits and partial and sincere?"
651.480000 655.680000 First of all, anything that comes from God is pure.
655.680000 658.420000 There's no ulterior motives.
658.420000 664.700000 There's no bad or evil intention there.
664.700000 665.700000 Is it peaceable?
665.700000 674.460000 Yeah, I think that when we are in community with others, when done the right way, that it
674.460000 682.060000 can be peaceable, and it is for our good, for our peace that God wants us to be in community.
682.060000 684.140000 The purpose is that it would be peaceable.
684.140000 689.300000 Yes, the purpose is that it would be peaceable, but I also think about when we allow ourselves
689.300000 695.140000 to be isolated, I don't have a whole lot of mental peace, and I tend to live too much
695.140000 701.340000 in my own mind, and so I need that feedback from people around me to have that inner peace.
701.340000 709.720000 And there is always difference and often conflict when people are in the same place at the
709.720000 713.300000 same time, right, for a certain period of time, but that doesn't mean you can't have
713.300000 715.140000 peaceable community despite your differences.
715.140000 718.340000 Well, and then just the rest of the verse, gentle, open to reason.
718.340000 719.340000 Are you open to reason?
719.340000 723.900000 Are you willing to sit down and listen to the other side of the story?
723.900000 726.820000 And then full of mercy and good fruits.
726.820000 735.660000 If you are gentle and willing to listen to someone, I believe that will bear fruit.
735.660000 743.180000 And being impartial and sincere in that impartiality, like I may believe something very strongly
743.180000 749.580000 or think something very strongly, I think all snitches should have stars on their bellies.
749.580000 753.180000 But if you don't think that snitches should have stars on their bellies, it's still good
753.180000 759.420000 to sit down and talk about how much we either like or dislike Dr. Seuss books.
759.420000 767.340000 So that's just a quick little example and a practical sort of takeaway from this discussion
767.340000 771.220000 in this episode that I kind of wanted to leave our listeners with for the summer.
771.220000 776.180000 So grab sheet of paper right down James 317, whichever version speaks to you.
776.180000 778.540000 This particular one was the ESV.
778.540000 783.980000 And as you come across information and just different things this summer, you can measure it against
783.980000 784.980000 this standard.
784.980000 787.300000 I like that.
787.300000 792.700000 It's one of those you can, we've done this in a few episodes, maybe not this season, maybe
792.700000 796.980000 it was season one, where we told people to write it on your bathroom mirror, put a post
796.980000 797.980000 in it up.
797.980000 798.980000 Yeah.
798.980000 803.660000 Have it as your phone, screen, saver, or this would be a good exercise for that.
803.660000 804.660000 Yeah.
804.660000 805.660000 With this verse.
805.660000 806.660000 I think so.
806.660000 811.260000 You had it on my mirror for quite some time.
811.260000 819.660000 I also wanted to touch on a very important question that we received back in November.
819.660000 826.140000 We did a live version of our podcast for a group of women at our church.
826.140000 828.180000 It was a lot of fun.
828.180000 831.700000 There was food involved.
831.700000 832.700000 Good food.
832.700000 835.180000 Really good food.
835.180000 843.420000 That's saying that we wouldn't come and do a live podcast without food, but it helps.
843.420000 848.820000 And I drink coffee and I drink tea, so there you go.
848.820000 852.060000 That's all we ask, so we ask listeners.
852.060000 855.060000 Our writer is tea, coffee, and good food.
855.060000 860.100000 But one of the questions we received that night that we were not able to get to because
860.100000 869.980000 of time constraints was, how can I trust God in a new season of retirement?
869.980000 876.500000 Well, we've had quite a few months to think about that, and we now have an answer.
876.500000 881.500000 Explain Sarah, why is this question relevant to your life?
881.500000 886.780000 So our family has been experiencing this season of retirement because my husband is retired
886.780000 890.320000 last year due to his diligence and hard work.
890.320000 894.140000 He was able to, I like to say graduated.
894.140000 901.900000 One of the things that I have noticed is that he already had some specific hobbies that
901.900000 908.420000 he enjoyed, but didn't have as much time for as he may have wanted when he was still working.
908.420000 915.060000 So for him, it was an easy shift to start investing more into his hobbies.
915.060000 921.660000 One of those hobbies happens to be gardening, which is excellent for us because we get all
921.660000 923.720000 sorts of delicious things to eat.
923.720000 924.800000 And so do their friends.
924.800000 925.800000 And so do they.
925.800000 926.800000 Yes.
926.800000 927.800000 And if it had from your garden.
927.800000 928.800000 Yes, you have.
928.800000 935.080000 All of those beautiful, Pinterest-worthy pictures of your first spring crop of radishes.
935.080000 940.060000 Well, we've already had that weeks ago because of his diligence in this area.
940.060000 943.380000 So I would have to say that that has definitely been a joy.
943.380000 950.120000 But in answer to the listeners question back in the fall, be prepared with some hobbies
950.120000 955.680000 or some interest that you've already started laying the groundwork for so that when you're
955.680000 961.160000 at the time, when, oh, I'm not going into the office today, you have something else to
961.160000 962.160000 do.
962.160000 963.160000 So I would definitely say that.
963.160000 969.840000 As far as from the spouse's perspective, it's definitely been different than maybe I
969.840000 972.280000 thought it was going to be.
972.280000 980.820000 We were intentional with setting up specific times to maybe have a breakfast or have a lunch
980.820000 986.560000 or go on a walk or do things because even though he retired, I didn't.
986.560000 990.320000 So there was definitely a little bit of adjustment.
990.320000 993.120000 And still is because that's just how life is.
993.120000 998.080000 There's definitely some adjustment as far as interacting with your spouse.
998.080000 1003.320000 And this seems so odd to say, well, good morning, yes, I love you.
1003.320000 1004.320000 Let's have breakfast.
1004.320000 1010.280000 And then oh, by the way, I need to be done eating breakfast in seven minutes and I will be
1010.280000 1013.240000 home, but I will not see you for the next four hours.
1013.240000 1015.000000 So that's sort of odd to me.
1015.000000 1021.400000 Those folks who have two working adults in the house that are both working from home probably
1021.400000 1024.680000 experience this much more than than we did.
1024.680000 1027.280000 But it was definitely, I would say, an adjustment for us.
1027.280000 1034.000000 So as far as how can you trust God in the next season of retirement, well, know that he's
1034.000000 1039.000000 going to be there and that he has the plans already set up and say, he your husband is going
1039.000000 1040.000000 to be there.
1040.000000 1043.760000 God, God is going to be there.
1043.760000 1051.480000 And then just be super intentional about making a schedule for time together and then time
1051.480000 1059.480000 apart, and then if you are the one retiring, be deliberate about setting up which things
1059.480000 1069.360000 you're going to pursue, there are so many volunteer opportunities in the church, in communities
1069.360000 1074.560000 with kids with, I can't even because the possibilities are endless.
1074.560000 1081.680000 And I would encourage you, I will encourage anyone, but especially in the season of retirement,
1081.680000 1087.680000 be sure to spend time outside in the woods on the water by the water.
1087.680000 1092.640000 There is something about the awesome power of God that is so evident in nature that it
1092.640000 1097.320000 just puts everything into perspective.
1097.320000 1105.640000 But you are talking about, again, reminds me of a lot of the themes that we've been discussing
1105.640000 1110.000000 in the past few months, the idea of sowing and reaping.
1110.000000 1116.480000 When you are not yet at retirement stage of life, you need to be sowing those things that
1116.480000 1118.360000 you can reap in retirement.
1118.360000 1126.200000 That is very practically financial future plans and resources, but it's also like you're
1126.200000 1132.520000 mentioning hobbies, interests, community, service.
1132.520000 1143.200000 I am not sadly close to retirement as closest we might like to be, but I have observed from
1143.200000 1149.040000 watching others that have gone through this, especially in American culture.
1149.040000 1157.840000 There is a tendency to think about retirement as now you just check out and fade back and
1157.840000 1159.040000 take it easy.
1159.040000 1165.160000 And so those who have at least from my outside observations, who have had a harder time
1165.160000 1172.960000 with it are those who are suddenly withdrawing more from community and have not started sowing
1172.960000 1177.400000 things earlier that they can reap in retirement.
1177.400000 1182.560000 As a non-retired person, hopefully, I'm allowed to speak into that a little bit.
1182.560000 1187.280000 You bring up an interesting point, financial sowing.
1187.280000 1194.960000 Wouldn't it be interesting if while you were saving the minimum of 15% of your income
1194.960000 1202.160000 into your retirement, wouldn't it be interesting if you were not only investing 15% of your financial
1202.160000 1214.480000 income, but also 15% of your time into a future endeavor, whether it be a hobby, a small
1214.480000 1220.540000 business that you've wanted to start, I mean, maybe 15% is the right number for the money.
1220.540000 1224.480000 Maybe it's only 10% of your time or something, but the principle is there.
1224.480000 1227.640000 I think that that could be a double principle.
1227.640000 1232.440000 I don't even mean to do that.
1232.440000 1240.000000 It's time value of money, but it's true, because let's say that at age 25, when you have your
1240.000000 1244.800000 first real job, and you're putting, maybe some benefit before them, but do I say a real
1244.800000 1245.800000 job?
1245.800000 1246.800000 But your first job where you're investing?
1246.800000 1247.800000 Able to save.
1247.800000 1248.800000 Able to save.
1248.800000 1249.800000 Right.
1249.800000 1250.800000 Yeah.
1250.800000 1251.800000 You're at a debt.
1251.800000 1252.800000 You're putting 15% into retirement.
1252.800000 1259.160000 Making a portion of your time, investing into, maybe it's saving up to buy a small piece
1259.160000 1261.400000 of land that you want to build a little cabinet.
1261.400000 1270.720000 Yeah, I have no idea, but I feel like that sort of concept or approach could really pay
1270.720000 1271.720000 off.
1271.720000 1272.720000 Yeah.
1272.720000 1279.080000 I know people who have taken a portion of their money to save for giving in retirement
1279.080000 1285.440000 for philanthropy or missions or whatever it might be, and they do it with other people.
1285.440000 1291.000000 So that as you're working and moving through life, you're making these decisions and this
1291.000000 1292.840000 purpose together.
1292.840000 1298.120000 So that by the time you're retired, you're already in community and in purpose with people
1298.120000 1299.120000 to do things with this money.
1299.120000 1300.720000 Well, isn't that interesting?
1300.720000 1306.640000 I imagine that's how a lot of these amazing foundations and different programs that do
1306.640000 1310.720000 good charitable work get started when people get together and are intentional about it.
1310.720000 1312.760000 And it doesn't have to be a lot, you know?
1312.760000 1313.760000 Yeah.
1313.760000 1314.760000 But anyway.
1314.760000 1315.760000 Those are good thoughts.
1315.760000 1316.760000 Yeah.
1316.760000 1318.560000 We hope that helped answer your question, listener.
1318.560000 1319.560000 I like that.
1319.560000 1320.560000 Yeah.
1320.560000 1326.480000 So, Marybeth, you're on the spot.
1326.480000 1327.480000 I'm ready.
1327.480000 1336.560000 Has doing this podcast with me helped your small business or hurt your small business?
1336.560000 1342.160000 Oh, interesting proposition.
1342.160000 1349.680000 I mean, my first instinctive response is neither.
1349.680000 1350.680000 I would not.
1350.680000 1356.200000 I definitely wouldn't say it's hurt it, but I think I'm trying to think now.
1356.200000 1358.840000 How has it helped?
1358.840000 1363.520000 We were talking before we started recording about all things, all areas of our life connecting.
1363.520000 1366.200000 So now the wheels are turning.
1366.200000 1375.940000 It has definitely made me think more about other ways to do communication and exploring
1375.940000 1380.280000 technology and all the things available to us.
1380.280000 1390.960000 It also has encouraged me to not that I've ever hidden my faith in places or people that
1390.960000 1391.960000 I've worked with.
1391.960000 1396.420000 But it's been another avenue to kind of just be even more open about it, actually, I would
1396.420000 1397.420000 say.
1397.420000 1401.480000 So, whether that's helped or hurt my business to be determined.
1401.480000 1404.520000 But yeah, that's a really interesting question.
1404.520000 1409.960000 I hadn't thought about it before you just asked, which I guess is the point of an on-the-spot
1409.960000 1410.960000 question.
1410.960000 1414.160000 Yeah, so it is.
1414.160000 1417.680000 All right, okay.
1417.680000 1418.680000 Your turn.
1418.680000 1419.680000 Uh oh.
1419.680000 1423.040000 Let me take a sip of coffee.
1423.040000 1424.040000 Get ready for this question.
1424.040000 1426.280000 No, I've got to pull up my list.
1426.280000 1427.280000 Okay.
1427.280000 1428.280000 Wait a minute.
1428.280000 1429.280000 You've got a list.
1429.280000 1431.440000 Oh, I have a list.
1431.440000 1434.120000 Uh oh.
1434.120000 1439.360000 What is a goal that you are working toward right now in your life?
1439.360000 1452.540000 To get back to trail riding, I had an unfortunate crash in the end of December and it has kept
1452.540000 1455.400000 me off the trails.
1455.400000 1460.440000 So I'm working to get back on the trails and it's really interesting because throughout
1460.440000 1466.880000 this entire process, first of all, I was doing something that we do not teach at Nike.
1466.880000 1471.480000 For those of you that are familiar, Nike is our National Air Scholastic Sikling Association.
1471.480000 1476.600000 So Coach Sarah was doing something she shouldn't have been doing, but that's an aside.
1476.600000 1485.980000 Anyway, but it's been really interesting because I have been learning a lot of other things
1485.980000 1489.080000 surrounding riding a bike.
1489.080000 1496.840000 So I've learned the importance of how the rest of my body is reacting or acting.
1496.840000 1504.340000 As I'm riding, whether it be strength in certain areas or the impact that certain areas of my
1504.340000 1509.960000 body are taking as I ride rough terrain or balance or it's just been very interesting.
1509.960000 1520.020000 And I would have to say that I've probably learned more about how impatient I am and more
1520.020000 1528.020000 about how I can be a better coach and a better teacher of young people.
1528.020000 1535.600000 So the goal that I have is to get back to trail riding and I had a little taste of it recently.
1535.600000 1543.460000 I was at a retreat for coaching and I was doing some training and we did a tiny snippet of
1543.460000 1545.140000 an easy trail to practice.
1545.140000 1548.220000 Some of the skills, and I was very happy.
1548.220000 1549.860000 So I'm getting there.
1549.860000 1550.860000 That's my goal.
1550.860000 1552.260000 To get back on the trail.
1552.260000 1553.660000 Excellent.
1553.660000 1557.660000 You ready for another one or do you want to ask me?
1557.660000 1560.480000 This is a fun one, Mary Beth.
1560.480000 1567.820000 What is the oldest piece of clothing that you own and why?
1567.820000 1573.540000 My dad's leather jacket from the 1970s that he bought in Egypt when he was there in the
1573.540000 1584.140000 Air Force and I got it from him when I was in college because he didn't, I don't really
1584.140000 1587.940000 remember how the exchange happened, but I asked him if I could have it.
1587.940000 1592.140000 So I would wear it in college.
1592.140000 1595.100000 It's like a, what do you call that color?
1595.100000 1597.740000 Like a cognac color leather?
1597.740000 1601.740000 So I'd wear it in college and it looked vintage and cool and it's still in my closet.
1601.740000 1605.140000 I haven't worn it in a while, but that would be the oldest one.
1605.140000 1609.460000 I've thought about many times, you know, putting new buttons on it or getting it tailored
1609.460000 1611.100000 a little, but having done that yet.
1611.100000 1612.100000 I like that.
1612.100000 1613.100000 Yeah.
1613.100000 1614.100000 There's an easy answer.
1614.100000 1615.100000 Okay.
1615.100000 1624.900000 Well listeners, we hope you've enjoyed this recap and question asking episode.
1624.900000 1626.460000 We love you.
1626.460000 1629.820000 We're so grateful that you are tuning in.
1629.820000 1634.000000 And we look forward to talking to you more next season.
1634.000000 1638.100000 We're going to be focusing more on community and conversation.
1638.100000 1642.900000 Have a nice summer break for those who listen to this in real time.
1642.900000 1650.860000 The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy
1650.860000 1654.780000 and good fruits impartial and sincere.
1654.780000 1657.740000 We'll be back with season three before you know it.
1657.740000 1667.740000 Happy trails.
1667.740000 1676.900000 Hey y'all, Marybeth here, Sarah and I are so glad that you chose to listen to our podcast.
1676.900000 1681.980000 And while we think that we're awesome friends to have, we just wanted to clarify that we are
1681.980000 1685.980000 not mental health professionals and want you to know that this podcast should not take
1685.980000 1688.860000 the place of any paid professional advice.
